Anita Barone

An actor with many talents who has been relegated mostly to shows on TV, Anita Barone received her greatest chance in the medium when she played husband to Jeff Foxworthy on "The Jeff Foxworthy Show," which had a single season on ABC in 1995-96. Barone's initial stage performance was at the age of five in Detroit in the city to which her family moved after moving to the city from St Louis. By the time she turned 23, Barone appeared in 50 shows. Most of them were on stage in university and regional theaters. The stage roles she played included Juliet of "Romeo as well as Juliet," Helen Keller in a stage production from "Monday After the Miracle" and the title part of Agnes who is a young, tormented nun from "Agnes of the Gods." Her first screen appearance was a minor role in "The The Rosary Murders" with a cameo appearance in "Ricochet", and leading in the romantic indie comedy "Just Friends", in 1996. But Barone's first Hollywood employment of note was as a part of the company that owns "Carol and Company" (NBC, 1990-91), the ill-fated the attempt by Carol Burnett to revive the variety/sketch comedy program. Barone also appeared in"The Wounded Heart" on the USA Network movie "Wounded Heart" in 1995. She then returned to her daily sitcoms, appearing with Michael Chiklis in "Daddio" (NBC in 2000).
